Care Daily, operating as People Power Company, has been awarded more than $8 million in research funding from the National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the National Institutes of Health, and has run multi-year randomized controlled trials with researchers at the University of California, Berkeley. The result is one of the deepest evidence bases in ambient care.

In the first trial, 63 family caregivers were randomized to a fully activated system or to a control condition. Caregiver anxiety declined significantly between three and six months in the activated group. It did not decline in the control group.
Sleep
In the second trial, with a national sample of 178 caregivers, sleep efficiency declined significantly over six months in the control group and did not decline in the activated group. The finding is protective: the technology did not make people sleep better, it stopped their sleep getting worse.
We state that second result carefully because the papers do. Preventing a decline is a different claim from producing an improvement, and it is the one the data supports.
